If so, you should consider a career with Oakwood Systems Group. We are adding Senior System Management Engineers to configure, install, set up security and reporting tools for Oakwood’s clients.

The Senior Systems Management Engineer handles a variety of roles ranging from nurturing client relationships, building Oakwood presence through technical expertise and design & installation of complex systems to assessing and recommending solutions for the desktops or networks. The role involves pre-sales support including project definition, scoping/sizing, analysis of technical alternatives, and the presentations and/or proposal of results. The primary role will be to design and install complex systems working with clients and vendors to find cost-effective solutions, utilizing varying tools/hardware and software alternatives. The position will include opportunities to mentor other team members including client personnel. This position may serve in either an individual or team environment with the potential of serving in varying capacities including technical project leadership, depending on the needs of the project and the team (client and internal).

Primary Tasks:

Leverage both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems
Design and install complex systems working with clients and vendors to find cost-effective solutions.
Troubleshoot operational problems by using a variety of hardware/software troubleshooting techniques
Evaluate new hardware and software products to determine possible use by clients
Develop and maintain expertise in one or more of Oakwood’s product and service offerings
Support sales effort through sales calls, proposal writing and proposal presentation
Develop, expand and maintain customer relationships
Promote Oakwood within the community

Required Skills and Experience:

Over 7 years of practical experience in infrastructure work with previous consulting experience preferred
MCSA, MCSE (current release), MCTS or MCITP in an Infrastructure-related area
Diverse technical background with experience in various industries, roles, platforms, architectures, packages and technologies
Proven track record in core skills for infrastructure, centering around customer, project and client/staff deliverables
Broad knowledge of Microsoft technologies and products, with specialization in one or more of the following: Active Directory, Exchange Server, Office Communication Server, ConfigMgr, SCOM, SCSM, SCORCH, ISA Server, Forefront, SharePoint, AntiVirus and Hyper-V
Professional image and demeanor with the ability to present oneself in a consultative, confident manner while treating clients and team members with the highest level of professionalism
Possess an entrepreneurial nature with the capability to understand multiple facets of a business environment along with an interest in contributing to Oakwood Systems Group
Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as both the business and technical communities
Open to the potential for travel

Preferred Experience and Certifications:

MCSE 2003 Certification or MCITP Enterprise Messaging Administrator, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, MCITP Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 Certification(s)
Minimum of Bachelors’ Degree preferred
