Job Description

Overall Responsibilities:
PCG currently seeks a Software Engineer to work in our Boston, MA location. The person will work with senior business and operation management personnel to monitor and advance all aspects of the TPA operations, new application development, application support, reporting (management, financial and statistical), and operational improvements. This position also includes participation in new client proposal writing, system operations development and implementation.

Specific Responsibilities

Perform upgrades to 3rd party applications as needed during and outside of normal business hours
Perform adhoc reporting to support project needs and delivery, including query building and report formulation using such tools as SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and T-SQL
Develop new applications and enhance existing application code to improve operations efficiencies
Collaborate with TPA management and clients in the prioritization of deliverables
Provide direct consulting, operational, and technical support to the TPA Director of Reimbursement
Hands-on involvement in the completion of deliverables which can include both business and technical projects
Participate in the development of project budgets and monitoring actual expenses against plan
Ability to develop technical requirements and specifications
Ability to develop and test use cases for all new development and enhancements
Assist with documentation management of all project work performed



Required Skills:

Proficiency in all MS Office products such as Excel, Word and Visio
3+ years in MS-SQL,MS-ACCESS,
2+ years in Crystal Reports , SSRS
3+ years in C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET
SSIS is a plus
Proficiency in HIPAA 837, 835, 834, 997, 999 healthcare claim transaction sets
Ability to understand technical information and communicate in business terms
Ability to move projects forward within specific timeline and budget while working at a detailed level
Strong skills in the area of interpersonal communication, analysis, critical thinking and attention to detail
Strong organizational & analytical skills, including the ability to analyze, understand and summarize key issues
Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, team-oriented, delivery-focused, and professional consulting environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent work ethic and ability to prioritize tasks



Required Experience

A Bachelors Degree is required, graduate degree preferred
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
Relevant work experience in the health care industry, preferably in the Third Party Administration of Healthcare Claims
Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of current trends and technical advancements
