Job Summary:
The Lead Technical Business Analyst is a product SME who has a thorough understanding of a variety of financial products such as commercial lending, retail and market products. He/She leads other technical Business Analysts and works with all technical resources to support technical deliverables and efforts. The Lead Technical Business Analyst also works with Business Leads and Source System SME’s to understand all aspects of the business data to apply to technical solutions. Also The Lead Technical Business Analyst ensures data quality monitoring and controls are in place.

Essential Functions:

  • Business Analysis – Lead role in requirement and functional specification development for projects

a. Analyze Business Requirements, provide guidance to Technical BAs

b. Lead the efforts to produce functional specifications where required to augment design and mapping activities

c. Review functional requirements to support design and development

d. Work with DMO and ISA key staff to clarify the requirements and ensure holistic design decisions and project dependency and impact analysis

  • Product/Subject Matter Expertise

a. Product SME for multiple DWH products

b. Prepare/Own Product to systems and product to downstream matrices, data flows and systems functions and present to business/stakeholders

  • Projects

a. Lead Large & Mega projects involving data warehouse solutions for integration with Hudson projects and architecture.

b. Coordinate with Quality Assurance and UAT teams for test planning/strategy, execution, and issue resolution and reporting

c. Act as the first line of defense to conduct first level analysis in response to UAT issues and identify the root cause

  • End User Support – Interact with IT stakeholders and business groups in designing optimal solutions for end users and downstream applications
  • Management –

a. Provide product knowledge transfer and mentor/supervise staff and other analysts in the group, direct and document application design strategies.

b. Communicate effectively with upward, lateral, and downward staff

c. Monitor performance & progress of staff and project activities.

d. Report to management on a periodic basis. Perform related duties and participate in special projects as required.



  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience in conducting requirement analysis, functional & detail design documents along with specifications for business rules.
  • Banking product knowledge in either core banking products (loans, deposits, forex and money market) or Capital Markets products (Derivatives, Options & Futures, Securitization and Fixed Income) is a must.
  • Strong exposure to Balance Sheet, P&L, Income Statement, G/L Systems, BASEL II regulatory knowledge
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data integration is a must.
  • Banking/Financial Services experience is a must.
  • Advance SQL knowledge is a must; Database & data modeling knowledge is a plus.
  • Data Quality and Data Profiling skills a big plus.
  • Experience in SDLC waterfall and agile methodologies, developing business and functional requirements as part of a business analyst role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with business and technology teams.
