Acentia is seeking an Operations Project Manager to join our team supporting a Large Federal Client in Washington, DC.



The Operations Project Manager is a member of our leadership team at DOL. This person will manage all aspects of IT operations assigned in our contract. This person will lead a team of professionals providing IT support services at the Office of the Chief Information Officer. They will interface directly with the customer on a daily basis and will ensure all the resources of Acentia are made available to support the customer.



The Operations Project Manager is also responsible for identifying opportunities and managing IT activities that meet current and future business requirements. Activities include managing assigned projects; communicating technical requirements to non-technical personnel; supporting briefing preparation and presentation. Work assignments involve active participation on projects that may include design, development, and implementation, while evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on the status of project activities.



Primary Responsibilities to include (but not be limited to) the following:



Direct and manage assigned projects according to the Program/Project Management standards and methodologies as required by the client
Define project scope, define work breakdown structure, clarify tasks and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with business stakeholders and OCIO
Directly manage IT professionals assigned to the project
Develop project schedules, requirements, risk, communications and other project related plans as necessary
Effectively communicate and manage expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Capture and manage business and technical requirements
Coordinate with project stakeholders, vendor and OCIO resources
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve program goals
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
Plan, schedule, and track timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
Develop and deliver program deliverables including progress reports, lifecycle, documentation, and presentations
Manage artifacts in SharePoint site
Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential risks, and devise mitigation plans when necessary
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the program

Required Skills

Minimum Experience:



Certified PMP
7 – 10 years managing IT projects
3 – 5 years working in a government agency supporting the Chief Information Officer
ITIL Master Certification desired, ITIL Certification required



Skills and Qualities:



Excellent time management, multitasking and prioritization
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent documentation skills
Ability to work well independently and in a team
Strong problem-solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office including MS Project.



Desirable experience:



Demonstrated experience overseeing operations of an IT environment including:Demonstrated understanding of the government IT standards including Cloud First, Mobility, Open Source, and FISMA.
Wide Area Network over 500 sites
Management of server farms
Tier 2, Tier 3 Service Desk
Demonstrated understanding of customer satisfaction across stakeholders in a federated organization.
Demonstrated experience in enterprise consolidation of IT systems
Familiarity with LAMP Stack implementation (LINUX, Apache, MySQL, PHP (Perl and Python))
Familiarity with service management and ticketing systems such as Remedy.



Education/Certifications:



Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (Required)
Master's Degree preferred
Must have current PMP certification.
ITIL Certification required. ITIL Master desired.



Clearance:



Must undergo and successfully attain the following security investigation: Background Investigation (BI)
Must successfully clear a Credit Check



Physical Requirements:



Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.



Work Environment:



Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area.
The noise level in this environment is low to moderate.
