Full-time System Administrator

Summary
The System Administrator is a subject matter expert in terminal services and application presentation virtualization. The System Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance and support of business servers with a client base located throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Washington D.C. and will be highly responsive to service disruptions and outages and work to effect restoration of services.
Responsibilities
Architect, configure, install and manage Windows servers in a Virtual environment.
Troubleshoot application dependencies using advanced diagnostic tools (examples: ProcMon, Fiddler, Wire Shark)
Manage user environments using enterprise profile management suites (examples: Citirx UPM, AppSense, MS Roaming Profiles)
Maintain Windows 2008 R2 IIS 7.5 web services
Plan and deploy operating system patches working with application teams to minimize environmental impacts.
Act and serve as technical advisor to users and professionals and maintain open positive communications with clients.
Participate in establishing operating system/server application requirements and standards and procedures that fit within the overall Department of Energy and agency IT standards and processes.
Assure compliance with servers and computer room(s) security procedures that apply to team*s assigned tasks
Configure, install and manage a Windows Server environment utilizing blade architecture.
Install; configure, and support the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) server platform.
Work with other team members of a server team to resolve highly technical problems and issues.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience * Computer Technology or related field is required.
Undergraduate College Degree is preferred, or in lieu of degree, an equivalent of 4 additional year*s experience (14+ years total) in Computer Technology or related field is required.
Demonstrated experience with server operating systems primarily Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Environment is required.
Demonstrated experience with hardware specifications and maintenance requirements in a computer room environment is required.
Demonstrated experience with the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) server platform is required.
Demonstrated experience with Virtual server methodologies including thin client shared desktop implementation is required.
Strong understanding of domain security groups and setting permissions regarding access to server and particularly terminal server resources is required.
Demonstrated experience with user environments and the ability to troubleshoot profiles issues in a Shared Desktop environment is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with advanced diagnostic tools is strongly preferred.
MCSE Certification is strongly preferred.
Position requires work in and around energized facilities. Must be able to obtain and retain an Access Permit
5% travel to and attend workshops, meetings, conferences, and/or other professional activities as needed to research and gather first-hand information concerning new or changing physical access and monitoring system alternatives for consideration, and/or report results of research and implementation initiatives.
Position may require work on call outside of standard working hours when necessary. Expected to provide on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions. Location for on-call and backup support may be at facilities or off-site. Required to carry a supplied cell phone/pager and work non-core hours when requested.
Follow established processes and procedures.
Communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users.
Explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
Write in a professional manner and in a style that can be understood by the lowest common denominator in a multi-disciplinary environment that simultaneously includes technical and non-technical audiences.
Carry out assigned tasks with a professional demeanor and customer service orientation
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills, including collaboration, facilitation, and teambuilding skills.
