Full-time Safety and Health Program Manager

Required Skills:

Establish and administer site safety and health management programs to maintain regulatory compliance, safety performance standards, and company safety and health leadership initiatives
Develop, implement and maintain assigned safety and health programs, procedures, and practices for the campus:
Chemical management
Electrical safety / lockout tagout
Confined space
Job hazard analysis
Laser, x-ray, and radiation safety
Personal protective equipment
Management of change
Powered mobile equipment
Identify program requirements
Author written programs
Develop communication and training elements
Establish performance objectives and measures
Implement and conduct auditing and corrective action programs
Provide performance reporting
Determine applicability of local, state, and federal safety regulatory requirements to company operations, facilities, and equipment
Translate and communicate regulatory requirements into business or operating
Obtain permits and assure operational regulatory compliance programs as necessary
Example Compliance Responsibilities:
Confined space
Hot work
Laser, x-ray, and radiation
Electrical safety / lockout tagout
OSHA accident reporting
Provide regulatory subject matter expertise to Business Unit personnel, EH&S
(Environmental Health & Safety) staff, Facilities, and senior management as required
Identify and manage technical resources such as contractors, etc. needed to assist in program implementation as necessary
Perform regular internal reviews of safety and health programs. Identify and recommend measures for controlling significant loss producing exposures
Update management about major risks, status of programs, and performance measures
Ensure that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of safety and health programs and applicable regulations. Provide timely and accurate performance metrics as required for program planning and ensure compliance with all standards
Assist EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) Director with the development and maintenance of effective relations with government agencies and the community.
Maintain insight into legislative agendas at the Federal, State, and local levels
Promote teamwork and cooperative efforts
Help train and give guidance to other company employees
Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area, practicing good safety habits, and utilize appropriate safety equipment
Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes
Ability to demonstrate excellent communications skills and high degree of credibility with site personnel and management
Ability to demonstrate Customer service orientation and attitude is a must
Demonstrate ability to leverage resources and actively involve customers in EHS(Environmental Health & Safety) program
Demonstrate ability to relate technical information to others in non-technical terms
Bachelors or master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Public Health or equivalent combination of education and experience; Related engineering degree preferable
EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) related experience desirable in one of the following industries: electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, electronic instrumentation, and computer manufacturing
Prior Management experience in an Environmental Health and Safety position is a plus
