Help Desk Technician
The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end users on a variety of issues in person, via telephone and e-mail. They will identify, research, and resolve technical problems utilizing effective tracking and monitoring systems to ensure timely resolutions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Image laptops and provide user laptop support (for Dell and Apple computers)
Provide tech support and resolve service desk tickets submitted by users (includes troubleshooting the issue and making updates to the tickets within the Dell KACE service desk system)
Update and maintain approved software within Dell KACE service desk software library
Define and build Dell KACE reports based on management requirements
Complete password changes and resets
Monitor update logs and complete necessary tasks to ensure all is in good standing (Symantec, Windows, etc.)
Find alternative solutions for common problems to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Document processes and procedures for all team responsibilities
Create a more informative document for new hires regarding our processes (e.g. SharePoint, using VM workstation for client work instead of base system)
Assess user requests to determine if they fall within company guidelines for security, feasibility, etc.
Asset tracking
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant hands-on experience
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft technologies, which includes:
Office Suite
MS Office 2003/2007
MS Outlook
OS/Applications
MS Windows
Windows 7 MS Exchange
Active Directory
Windows Server (2003 and 2008)
MS Exchange 2003-2007 and MS Terminal Services
Anti-virus (SAV)
Intermediate knowledge of Apple OS X
A+, Network+ and/or Microsoft certifications, and basic knowledge of Citrix preferred
Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette
Ability to learn and follow service standards and guidelines
Strong oral and written communication skills (technical and non-technical)
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to understand the organizations goals and objectives
Ability to multi-task
Ability to lift computer equipment
