We are currently seeking a Senior Storage and Backup Administrator to join our IT team in our Secaucus, NJ office.
The Senior Storage and Backup Administrator 's role is to ensure that the application and the technology are available at all times. This role will be accountable for storage and backup services as defined by the Storage and Backup Manager and the design and implementation of enterprise class distr ibuted services to meet business requirements as needed. This includes assessments of new planning products and methods. Participate in the development of appropriate support methodologies and maintenance procedures. Participate in the development of processes and procedures for all enterprise class distributed technology. The ability to effectively communicate with Team members, peers, vendors, and customers verbally and in written form is critical.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and/or 6 years equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 4 years storage and backup technology knowledge is preferred.
Must have a deep understanding of backup architectures related to Symantec's NetBackup 7.x running on a Windows platform as well as the backup of application servers in a mixed Wintel/Unix environment.
Familiarity with storage virtualization products, including DataCore SANSymphony and IBM Virtualization
Engine and SAN Volume Controller.
Must have experience with large databases, LAN-free backup solutions, disk-SAN-backup implementations
Demonstrated experience in Security technologies, forensic tools, and other state of the art methodologies.
