Join a team of technical professionals in a leading edge data center. Internationally respected financial institution is seeking a WebCenter Portal SME for a six contract at $63 per hour and then convert to full time at $115K. Excellent benefit package when full time including health, dental, matching 401K, stock option plan, and even paid holiday time off as a consultant. This work is remote or if you prefer can be located in Dallas, TX. Richmond, VA, Herndon VA, or East Rutherford, NJ.

a) General Description:

This is a mid-level E-commerce position requiring a minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or has equivalent work experience. Must have at least 5 years’ experience in full life cycle software development. Must have strong development and application server administration [ Oracle WebCenter Portal Oracle / Oracle Portal experience on UNIX ( Solaris ) and Microsoft systems, and strong communication and documentation skills. Be able to lead and coordinate the design, development, implementation and support of specialized business and technical information technology solutions.

b) Typical Duties:

This person is an application integrator to provide project planning and technical support to the application developers and application business owners. This resource will be the primary point of contact for the application throughout the application life cycle. In this role, the individual will ensure application migration readiness compliance; propose architectural solutions to support application requirements for high availability, reliability, security, etc.; work with clients to develop and update migration project schedules and provide appropriate communications. Must be willing to handle complexity and troubleshoot various technical scenarios on various software platforms.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday (day-time). Some overtime and on-call will be required.

c) Required Skills and/or Product Knowledge:

Education requirements include a B.S. degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related degree or equivalent work experience.

Technical skill requirements include the following:
Five years of Oracle WebCenter Portal / Oracle WebLogic Portal experience including design, administration, configuration and integration with COTS products.
Experience in integrating and deploying applications on Oracle WebCenter Portal / Oracle WebLogic Portal in a shared hosting environment
Java and J2EE (3 years)
XML and Web Services (3 -5 years)
Experience in Performance Tuning Applications (3 – 5 years)
Web infrastructure build and deployment (3-5 years)
Working knowledge of production Web hosting environments is required
Strong knowledge of Solaris 10 administration
Strong knowledge of HTTP and HTTPS
Knowledge of TCP/IP troubleshooting
Working knowledge of other Internet protocols (e.g., DNS, LDAP, Telnet, SMTP, SNMP)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to produce written documentation (procedures and work instructions)
Strong knowledge of a web server products (SunOne, Apache, or IPlanet) – 3 years
Ability to coach junior administrators, foster new talent

d) The following skills and experience are preferred: Desired skills include the following:
Understanding of various Software products currently in use in customer environment including: Siteminder, WebFocus, Oracle, DB2 Connect, LDAP, Connect Direct and MQ Series.
Demonstration of initiative and results oriented with flexibility and tenacity, and the ability to continuously adjust priorities to reflect changing circumstances
Strong diplomacy, assertiveness, influencing skills with commitment and ability to work in a dynamic cross-organizational team environment
Strong dedication to provide quality customer service

Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly identify the cause of issues with the system or determine if other teams need to be included in resolving an issue
Ability to manage own projects including communications to customers as well as work as part of a larger team managed by a project manager
