Acentia is seeking a team of Migration Technicians to join our short term project.

The Migration Technician is a position that focuses on the technical skills of performing on site AD and Windows XP to Windows 7 Migration execution. The Migration Engineer will travel to customer sites for a short period of time and will perform user and computer migrations. The Migration Engineer may also deliver training to customer personnel on the migration procedures following a provided training package.

Must have experience performing and troubleshooting Windows XP to Windows 7 OS migrations, application installation and AD user and computer migrations. Ideal candidates would demonstrate understanding of the migration process, and be able to directly support both end-users as well as act as an escalation point for issue resolution. Candidates should also be able to deliver basic training and troubleshooting to users and be able to install and configure basic peripherals like printers and scanners. The ability to work desk-side with the end-users is critical.

Client end-users are spread out across the United States and Puerto Rico. The Migration Technician must be willing to travel continuously as required to complete the migration.

Job Responsibilities
SME for the executing the site-by-site Windows and AD migration of users and computers on a large scale.
Experience working side-by-side with customer personnel and end-users.
Ability to perform migration activities and provide troubleshooting and issue resolution for next-day end-user support.
Ability to gather data and update as-built diagrams and other technical documentation.
Coordinate with end-users and agency representatives scheduled appointments and deployment
Develop a streamlined process for drop-offs and pickups. The process shall be used to maintain an inventory list of personal computers and laptop that are dropped off for installation and picked up upon completion
Collect pre-deployment information from end-users and agency representatives
Validate pre-deployment information with end-users and agency representatives
Assist end-users with pre-deployment tasks
Prepare systems for deployment
Install and configure COTS applications
Install printers and additional peripherals
Coordinate and process intake and resolution of incident and service requests
Provide Tier One/Two technical support
Provide post-deployment support to end-users
Should understand the following concepts:
Configuration Management
Release Management
Change Management
A formal Dev/UA/QA framework
The various regulatory frameworks including USGCB, NIST and OMB etc.

Required Skills:
Excellent time management, multi-tasking, prioritization, oral and written communication skills are required.
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to deal with ambiguous situations on a consistent basis
Ability to work along side end-users is critical.
Ability to work independently and in groups
Requires minimal supervision

Required Technical Skills:
Experience managing, trouble shooting, supporting a computer network environment
Demonstrated experience installing, configuring and supporting Windows XP/Vista/7 in an Active Directory environment, using SCCM, Group Policies, and US Government Computer Baseline (USCGB) settings
Demonstrated experience installing, configuring and supporting Office 2003 & 2007/2010 including Microsoft Outlook
Experience supporting personal computers, including hardware replacement
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues
Ability to provide high level customer service and communicate clearly verbally and in writing
Intermediate level knowledge of computer networks, protocols, UAC, access control lists, permissions and registry

Education / Experience Required:
High School graduate or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Manufacturer’s certifications designations (CompTIA A+, MCP etc.) are a plus

Project Requirements:
Constant TRAVEL IS REQUIRED – air and road travel. (This migration project affects 210 field offices across the US.)
Must have valid driver’s license – for local travel and rental car needs.
Able to work 40+ hours per week, additional as required for timely project completion. Overtime will be paid at 1.5X
Able to work outside of normal business hours (this will include nights and weekends as required to meet project deliverable deadlines)
Must be available for the entire duration of the project through Friday, March 7, 2014.
Must be able to pass a Background and Credit check in order to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
